In a high-mix plant it is fitted during a scheduled service window, so the next changeover starts from a known-good controller rather than one with an intermittent fault. On older CM402 platforms still running full shifts, it is the practical way to keep an ageing feeder bank in service without re-engineering the machine. • NPM series machines: NPM feeders and placement heads run through the same control path, so this board suits NPM platforms as well.
• Slot and connector fit: mounting alignment and connector positions match the designated slot, so no drilling, bracketing or adaptor wiring is needed.
• Bus and firmware: signal paths follow the machine's internal bus layout, so the board starts working without firmware modification or interface adjustment.

Installation & Setup

1. Book the change during planned downtime and record the machine's current feeder and motion parameters before you start.
2. Isolate the machine, switch off the power and follow your plant's lockout procedure.
3. Work with ESD protection - wrist strap and grounded mat - and keep the replacement in its anti-static packaging until it goes in.
4. Unplug the connectors from the original board, note the position of each one, and release the board from its retaining points.
5. Seat the replacement in the same slot, checking that the alignment holes and connector interfaces line up before any fixing is tightened.
6. Power up, then verify feeder indexing, motor actuation and sensor feedback on a short run before releasing the machine back to production.
