Product Overview

Panasonic built this AC servo unit for the AV131, RL131 and RG131 insertion machines, and it is the part a maintenance team needs when an inserter stops mid-batch and the fault traces back to the servo. It is supplied as a spare for the position the original unit occupied on those three platforms, not as a universal servo that will suit any Panasonic machine. Orders come mainly from plants that still run these inserters in daily production. Machine Compatibility

This servo is supplied for three Panasonic insertion platforms: the AV131, the RL131 and the RG131. One unit covers all three, which simplifies matters for a plant running a mix of inserters, because a single spare can go to whichever machine needs it first. Panasonic builds different servo units for its insertion machines and for its placement equipment, and the SMT pick and place machine manufacturers each use their own motion parts — so a servo that fits one machine will not necessarily fit another. Installation & Commissioning

1. Power the machine down and isolate it using your own lockout procedure before you touch the servo.
2. Photograph the unit in position and label every cable as you disconnect it — those photos save time when the replacement goes back in.
3. Remove the failed servo following the machine manual for your AV131, RL131 or RG131, and set it aside with its cables labelled.
4. Fit the replacement in the same position, reconnect in the reverse order of removal, and check that every cable is seated.
5. Power up and run the machine's reference or home routine, then jog the axis slowly rather than going straight to production speed.
6. Run a short test batch and check the insertion results across several boards before you hand the machine back to the line.
